An update on the Colorado Stormwater Portal that MHFD has been working on for the past year or so. As a reminder, this is the portal that was created in 2015/2016 to assist in compliance with Colorado Revised Statute §37-92-602(8)(b)(I)(A) that requires sites with detention facilities to provide notification to interested registered stakeholders. The portal’s current platform is sunsetting, causing the need for migration to a new platform.

This year MHFD has been fortunate to work with a group of stakeholders from CSC to help inform and guide development of the portal update. Additionally, MHFD is excited to partner with the State Office of Technology to be the new host for the new ESRI based portal. 

Please see updates below on current status and timelines for the new portal. 

• New stormwater portal (Web app/esri experience and survey) has been completed by MHFD.
• Feedback from stakeholders and the state (jurisdictional dam question) has been incorporated into the survey used for data entry. 
• MHFD met with State OIT and transferred content. They are working on getting everything up in running in their system. They have also been provided the existing datasets from Digital Data Services (current host) and are transferring legacy data into the new survey.
• MHFD is coordinating with state and OIT about future notifications.
• A new notifications process has been mapped for jurisdiction contacts to sign up to (Instead of notifications by division it can also be done by jurisdiction.)
• Once the new portal is hosted by OIT (in Oct/Nov) we can start making educational materials. We can still make changes in the future but wanted to get the data in the correct hosting platform.
• We are planning to go live in November. The old link will redirect to the new portal.

MHFD will be coming to the CSC General Meeting in November to roll out the platform and provide additional information.
